Si quelques pistes aux sonorités metal apparaissent ("Notrium" et "Salgo" dans une moindre mesure), l'ironie de cet album est qu'il vous plaira plus si vous appréciez plus Autechre que... Jute Gyte ! On retrouve la même ambition de faire une electro expérimentale, sauf qu'il y a plus d'humanité chez Adam Kalmbach ("Clawhead", "The End of Life") et même de l'auto-dérision ("The Wind Beneath"). Favorite track: The End of Life.

Notes:
As with the rest of these early albums I find it hard to remember my musical state of mind circa Arakan. Most of the sounds in "Clawhead"and "Arakan" were created by converting non-audio files to audio. The various components of "Salgo"–bassline, drums, guitar, vocal loop–are unrelated to one another in tempo. As with Apidya, please don't let this be the first Jute Gyte album you hear.

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten

This is a difficult album to even begin to write about. I wouldn’t say there are many albums I enjoy more than tyrant, regardless of genre. Every song on here is so massive and so crushing and yet so serene and beautiful too. Fucking chained to the bottom of the ocean feels like it’ll turn my brain into a formless goo that will then leak out of my nose. adammcjohnson
