Notes:
This album shares some of the components of Apidya and Arakan–pitch-shifted low-bitrate samples, non-audio files converted to audio–but uses them to much better results. Writing these notes eleven years later I can't remember what my musical intentions were but I think my control of materials improved between the first two electronic albums and this one, which I basically like. "Lung" concludes with microtonal piano.

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten

This is a difficult album to even begin to write about. I wouldn’t say there are many albums I enjoy more than tyrant, regardless of genre. Every song on here is so massive and so crushing and yet so serene and beautiful too. Fucking chained to the bottom of the ocean feels like it’ll turn my brain into a formless goo that will then leak out of my nose. adammcjohnson
